We wanted a single platform to electronically present different service options to any end user that require a specific service delivered either remotely or at a specific home or business. The vendor selection decision might be based on geographical, economic, skill-specific or other criteria. In contrast to the trading of goods, we could not locate a suitable platform focused on the promotion of unique and in demand services specifically, and decided to rather establish it ourselves. We also firmly believe that specific skills are available in South Africa that can be leveraged to provide economic benefits by creating short to medium term work assignments (i.e. small projects), but that the means of effectively marketing and promoting those skills are not always available in a single well-designed and functional platform.

Our objective is to assist service providers to grow their businesses by providing an easy to use, mobile platform that is user friendly and reliable to connect service seekers with vendors. By leveraging our unique set of skills, combined with an effective platform to market and promote service providers throughout South Africa, we strive to add value to end users of the platform, by locating the best suitable service providers required for a specific task. For service providers, the unique value proposition of eSolv is that an effective platform is provided to market unique services, while ultimately providing support to actively grow their businesses through innovative marketing strategies and related services, aimed at enhancing the growth prospects of service providers.

Furthermore, eSolv is working towards:

• Leveraging mobile and internet technology to grow the services sector in a quantified manner, both in width (number of services on offer by leveraging individual skills throughout South Africa) and depth (number of vendors offering a particular service)

• Promoting quality service delivery through a rating, customer feedback and reference system that is easily traceable and accessible

• Creating a cost effective platform for vendors to market their service offerings and skills, specifically promoting solopreneurs, entrepreneurs and SMB’s (small and medium businesses)

• Assisting small businesses through online marketing strategies, metrics and material to improve their offering, reach new clients and grow their businesses

• Encourage and enhance entrepreneurship in South Africa by providing assistance, advice and guidance on key focus areas to both establish and grow from the initial step of having a unique skill to leveraging that skill in the economic sector
